BISER: O.K., so what do you suggest that we do?
SCHULZE: O.K., Summer is over, Fall is here, and along with it comes cold and flu season. Already we are hearing from our readers that the colds have begun.
If you are healthy, take good care of yourself, and your immune system is strong, you should only have a few colds a year. These colds should only last two to four days in length. If you have cold and infections more frequently, or for longer duration’s this is not a good reflection of your health level.
If this is you, then this is a good health alert for you to upgrade your lifestyle and strengthen your immunity, to become a healthier person.
At the first sign, symptom or feeling of a cold or flu I suggest the following routines. This is what I call Aggressive Purification. This program will shorten the duration and intensity of your infection and it will make it a positive experience with you in control. It may also heal you before the first symptoms even get really get started.
WHAT KIND OF FOOD SHOULD YOU EAT WHEN YOU HAVE A COLD OR FLU?
The answer is STARVE EVERYTHING.
It takes a lot of energy to process, digest, assimilate and eliminate food. If you continue to eat while having an illness, this makes it harder for your body to do its job. If you stop eating, your body can utilize all of its energy and resources to help you get well.
Juices are a natural healing Blood Transfusion. Fruit and Vegetable juices are your best source of easy to assimilate nutrition and the best healing tool anytime you are sick.
Juices are the concentrated liquid extract of food, this means they can be digested with very little effort on your body and are concentrated sources of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutrients. Your body needs these nutrients to manufacture immune cells, rebuild immune organs and create vital chemicals that you need to destroy bacteria, virus, fungus or any pathogen.
Many of these nutrients on their own, like Vitamin A and C for example, have natural infection- fighting and immune-stimulating ability.
So stop eating and get the juicer out. Use local organic produce that is in season. You can dilute the juice with up to 50% water, for some this makes it easier to digest. You must consume at least one gallon, 128 ounces of liquid each day on this program. That can be a combination of fruit juice, vegetable juice, herb tea and pure water.
The only other addition I would make to the juice is what I call SuperFoods. Foods that are the highest sources of nutrients and extremely easy to digest like Spirulina, Chlorella and other BlueGreen Algae/Alfalfa, Barley and Wheat Grass/Dulse Seaweed, Beets and Spinach, Rose Hips and Non-active nutritional yeast.
SCHULZE: Another classic broth used by all Natural Healers is a Potassium Broth. I suggest to make this and have it everyday. This is hot, good tasting broth can make a world of difference when you are feeling sick. And if you add enough Garlic and Cayenne, it could heal you in hours. My recipe is as follows
This is a great tasting addition to your cleansing program. It will flush your system of toxins and mucous, while giving you concentrated amounts of minerals.
Fill a large pot of 25% potato peelings, 25% carrot peelings and whole chopped beets, 25% chopped onions and garlic, (add at least 50, if not 100 cloves of Garlic), 25% celery and dark greens.
Add a few hot chili peppers to taste. Add enough distilled water to cover vegetables and simmer on very low temperature for l-4 hours. Strain and drink only the broth, put the vegetables in your compost. Make enough for two days, refrigerate leftover broth.
Use only Organic vegetables, we do not want to consume any toxic, immune suppressive insecticides, pesticides or inorganic chemical fertilizers while we are on a detoxification program.
Helping Your Elimination Organs During a Bout of Flu or Common Cold
To cleanse the bowel: use fresh apple, prune and fig juice /laxative herbs (mild) licorice root, slippery elm, carob pods, flax seeds /stimulating herbs (medium) cayenne pepper, ginger root, garlic /cathartic herbs (strong) senna, cascara sagrada, aloe ferrox or spicata.
To cleanse your kidneys, use Lemon, lime or citrus water. Watermelon juice/Carrot-Parsley juice/Cranberry juice. Herb teas like Juniper berry, Uva Ursi leaves, Corn silk, Parsley leaf and root.
To cleanse your liver, use green juices like Wheat grass, Carrot-Veggie combos with beets, beet leaf, and dark (best if bitter) greens, all radishes especially diakon, burdock leaf and root, always add 1 or more cloves of garlic to the juice /Herbs such as Barberry rootbark, Oregon Grape root, Beet leaf, Burdock leaf and root, Dandelion leaf and root.
To cleanse your skin, use Skin Brushing 3 times daily, and see purification routines described next. Use hot Diaphoretic herb teas: hot ginger tea is my favorite.
To cleanse your lungs, use Deep Breathing, Moderate exercise. Add herbs to dilate the bronchial tubes (Lobelia herb and Ephedra branches). And herbs to promote expectoration (Lobelia).
To cleanse the lymphatics, use Skin brushing, My Alternating Hot and Cold shower routine (see purification routines), Yoga or stretching (keep moving). Lymphatic and Blood cleansing herbs (Red Clover blossoms, Chaparral herb, Burdock root).
KEEP MOVING PHYSICALLY: Tell your exercise or movement instructor that you are having a cold, but you are aggressively healing yourself naturally, and you still want to work out, keep active. You may modify your workouts, but don’t stop. Continuing your exercise keeps you breathing and promotes blood and lymphatic circulation. This will speed up the healing process.
Are Colds and Flus Always Bad for the Body?
Remember, whenever the body does a repair job, it always does a 150% job. In other words, when your body defends itself from an infection, especially if assisted, not drugged, it will also use this time to do some extra house cleaning, to do some extra cleansing.
You will be destroying disease and infection in your body that you don’t even know you had, something that may have developed as a disease later but now it will be gone. So get rid of all your negative thoughts about colds, influenza and fevers and begin new positive thoughts and affirmations about your body healing itself and doing a routine self-cleanse.
Enjoy your new aggressive purification routines and make this a fun experience. Because of an infection, your body has decided to do a detoxification program, so assist it by giving it the best program you can.
The following is a list of purification routines and helpful hints to assist your body in it’s purification.
First, before the list of Purification routines and Helpful Hints, a note about drugs. Just say NO to them.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER reduce a fever with drugs. A fever is part of your body’s immune response. For every degree of temperature rise in your body, the speed at which your white blood cells (your immune cells) can travel, and kill off the attacking organisms is doubled.
This means if you are running a temperature of 104 degrees your white blood cells can reach the infection 64 TIMES FASTER THAN NORMAL and DESTROY it 64 times more rapidly. Why would you want to slow this process down? YOU DON’T.
Fevers are never dangerous as long as you keep hydrated. Never use any drugs especially ones that suppress fevers, coughs, runny nose of the symptoms of cold and flu. Just make sure you are keeping up with drinking a gallon of liquid as outlined in the previous food section.
Further Steps To Fight Colds and Flu
*Take a Hot and Cold alternating morning shower every day always ending in cold. Take a nice warm shower, then turn all the hot water off, breathe, scream if you need to and then after at least 15 seconds of pure cold, turn back up the hot to a very warm temperature. Repeat this 7 times and end with cold.
Evening Hydrotherapy Bath
*In the evening, do a hot bath routine Turn the heater on in the bathroom and get the bathroom as hot as you can. Run a hot bath as hot as you can stand it and once you’re in, if you can, add more hot water and increase the temperature even more.
While you’re in the tub drink at least 6 cups of hot herbal tea; sage, yarrow and peppermint are good, ginger is great, but even hot water with lemon juice and cayenne pepper will do.You will begin to sweat. Stay in as long as you can, and when finished rinse off with cold water. Stay in at least 20 minutes.
If at anytime during this routine you feel faint, put a cold wash cloth on your face and put some cayenne tincture or cayenne pepper in your mouth.
Rinse off cool, dress warm and go to bed.
In the morning you will wake up a new person. Do this routine at night for 2 to 3 days and whatever you had will be gone.
*Fresh air is essential, so keep windows open as much as possible in the house.
*Consume a minimum of least 3 cloves of fresh RAW garlic each day. NO deodorized capsules.
It is now well known in medical circles that if you can destroy the pathogens of colds and flu early, upon the first signs and symptoms, that you can stop colds almost immediately. Many people ask me which of my herbal formula will achieve this.
Over the years, many of my patients that used their Echinacea Plus on a regular basis never got sick. Echinacea Plus strengthened their immunity and protected them by stopping harmful pathogens in their tracts.
The most effective treatment, oddly enough, is to use Echinacea Plus like a treatment of antibiotics. Echinacea Plus must be taken steadily over a period of about one week for a maximum immune protection.
You must have a certain amount in your bloodstream, every day, for this routine to give maximum results and to supercharge your immune system.
The dosage I suggest is double all the German Pharmaceutical Clinical Results, and I used it with great success in my clinic for years. USE 2 DROPPERFULS (about 60 drops), 5 times daily until the 2 ounce bottle is finished. Do this now and at the beginning of each month.
If you are already ill or get ill, you can double, triple, even quadruple this dosage for a few days until you feel relief. Note, no more than 2 bottles should be used consecutively without a weeks space in between.
10 parts Echinacea angustifolia root
1 part fresh Garlic bulb
1 part Cayenne pepper
If this happens, it is important to mount an additional attack to stop the infection dead in its tracks. Super Tonic is my own strong herbal plague formulae that helps with all the general symptoms of colds and flu. This formulae destroys bacteria, virus and fungus on contact, breaks up and relieves congestion in the sinus and lungs and promotes expectoration and helps your body deal with fever. Many of my patients swear that Super tonic is the cure for the common cold. I believe it is too.
Gargle and swallow from one dropperful to one ounce as many times a day as you can.
1 part fresh-chopped White onions, or the hottest onions available.
1 part fresh-chopped Garlic cloves
1 part fresh-grated Ginger root
1 part fresh-grated Horseradish root
1 part fresh-chopped Cayenne peppers or the hottest peppers available.
Fill a glass jar 3/4 of the way up with equal parts of the above chopped and grated herbs. Then fill to the top with raw unfiltered, unbleached, undistilled apple cider vinegar. Close and shake vigorously and then top off the vinegar, if necessary. Begin this formula on the NEW moon and strain and bottle on the FULL moon, approximately 14 days.
Filter the mixture through a clean piece of cotton, bottle and label. Make sure that when you are making this tonic, that you shake it every time you walk by it, a minimum of once per day.
Remember that all the herbs and vegetables should be fresh (and organic, if possible), and to use dried herbs only in an emergency. If you have a hard time finding any of these particular herbs in your local health food store or grocery, try asking the produce manager for a special order, and if this doesn’t work, look for them in an ethnic area of your town, such as Asian, Indian, Southern European, South American, etc. where people use these herbs in their everyday cooking.

How to use LOBELIA.
SCHULZE: To open the lungs and bronchials, lobelia has no equal. Use the tea or tincture but start off easy and work your way up in dosage. It will help you breathe and also expel lung congestion. I have used it on babies, the old and everyone in between.
A few drops to a few dropperful. An overdose will cause vomiting.
Use the herb of Lobelia inflata, or better yet the seed pods and seeds. You can make a tea or use the tincture.
Learning is not enough until you put into practice what you have learnt. Some of the most powerful remedies in this world are so simple but they require action on our part.
You may have to stop eating some things and take time to do some water therapy or hydrotherapy.
